Double Championship Show 10.04.21

The Kennel Club are allowing clubs to carry forward their 2020 Challenge Certificate allocation to 2021, thus holding two shows in the one year. The Committee have decided the best option is to hold a "double show" as it does not impact on other societies show dates, we already have the venue booked and it keeps travel costs to a minimum. It is therefore, our intention to hold both our 2020 and 2021 Championship Shows on Saturday 10 April 2021 at Tomlinsons, our usual venue. I am pleased to advise that Mr Geoff Corish (Sealaw) is free to judge on this new date, pending Kennel Club confirmation.

The 2020 Show will be held first, with the 2021 Show following in the afternoon, judged by Mrs Lesley Lee (Stargus).

Obviously, there will be a few changes - no Special Award Classes or Silent Auction and possibly a slightly earlier start than usual. As previously, the Committee just want members to "Save the Date" and for exhibitors to note the new date for their trimming schedule! Further details will follow over the coming months, but we are not rushing to get Schedules printed (and possibly wasted) until we have some idea on how things will pan out in terms of the virus and social restrictions.

2020 Open Show

The 2020 Open Show will not be rescheduled. Unfortunately, this means we will not be holding our Macmillan Coffee Morning event this year. However, if you would like to make a donation to the charity instead, here is the link to our designated event .

The next Open Show will take place on 17 October 2021 at Weedon Village Hall. Our contracted 2021 judge has kindly agreed to defer his appointment for a year to enable our 2020 judge, Mr David Winsley (Davmar), to fulfil his appointment in 2021 instead.

We will be holding Special Award Classes at this show instead of at the Double Show as mentioned above. The judge will be Mr David Jenkins (Sherifs).

Now to other matters:

Annual General Meetings (2020 and 2021)

It is our intention to hold both AGMs at the conclusion of the Double Show on 10 April 2021.

2020 Year Book

Having considered this carefully over the weeks of cancelled events, the Committee have reluctantly decided it is not viable to produce a 2020 Year Book. There will be so little content to report for the front section and I doubt whether there would be much appetite for advertising either. Instead, the 2021 edition will cover both years.

With this in mind, the Association will not be awarding our "Top" Awards this year as there have been so few shows (2 so far, with a potential maximum of 4 by the end of the year).

UK Memberships

The Committee have taken the decision to extend all paid 2020 UK memberships to cover the period to 31 December 2021.

Membership will be due on 1 January 2022 and this will be requested in the usual way, with the option to pre-order the 2020/21 Year Book.

Overseas Memberships

All paid 2020 Overseas members will have their subscription extended to 31 December 2021, in line with UK memberships. Their next subscription will be due on 1 January 2022 and this will include a copy of the 2020/2021 Year Book.
