National Airedale Terrier Association

The Association was formed in 1928, with J. N. Tinker Esq. as its' first Honorary Secretary.

The Association is registered with the Kennel Club and is represented on the Airedale Terrier Breed Council. Our membership is spread throughout the world with members as far afield as Australia, USA, Canada, South Africa and Japan, as well as most parts of the United Kingdom and Europe.

A national Association, with members and Committee being drawn from every corner of the UK, we rarely hold regional functions. We aim to serve the interests of all Airedale Terrier enthusiasts, breeders and exhibitors, both in the UK and overseas, by running our own shows and, in co-operation with the regional societies, promoting social events.

Membership of the Association is open to all and entails no special formalities.   We have several types of membership and further details can be found on our Membership page.

Our first show, a Championship Show, was held in London in 1928, the year the club was formed. In recent years, the Association has held one Championship Show and one Open Show annually. Details of forthcoming shows can be found on the Shows and Events page.

Since 1973, the Association has published an annual Year Book.  Each edition is a review of the year just ended, being published in the following Spring. If you would like to order a copy or to advertise within the next edition, please see our Year Book page for further information.

The Association is a member of Justice for Dogs, an organisation that offers free legal advice to fully paid up members of the Association for problems relating to dogs or canine related activities. For further information, please contact the Hon. Secretary.
